What Volnewmer is for

Skin that has lost its firmness — early jowls, soft contours, fine lines settling in, crepiness around the eyes. Laxity in its earlier, quieter stages.

How Volnewmer works

A monopolar radiofrequency device working at 6.78 MHz, reaching up to 4 mm deep — both layers of the dermis at once — while continuous water cooling protects the surface. The heat does two things: contracts existing collagen for some firming straight away, and prompts new collagen over the following months. Before every pulse the device measures your skin's individual resistance and adjusts the energy to it.

A session, step by step

  1. We start with your concern, a look at your skin, photographs in the same light each time, and a check of your health and the medicines you take.
  2. Make-up is removed and the skin cleansed. A return pad goes on your back to complete the radiofrequency circuit, and a thin layer of coupling gel on the area. Numbing cream is usually not needed.
  3. The treatment itself: the water-cooled tip is placed on the skin pulse by pulse, in several passes over each area, and checks your skin's resistance before each pulse. You feel waves of warmth with gentle vibration; if the heat builds too much, we lower the level or keep the tip moving.
  4. The gel is wiped off, and you can wear make-up again straight away. Mild redness and warmth are common for a few hours. The face takes around 30 to 60 minutes in all.

What to expect

How it feels

Around 30–60 minutes for the face. Waves of warmth with gentle vibration — mild, and numbing cream is usually unnecessary. You can wear makeup again straight after.

Downtime

Usually none; mild redness and warmth for a few hours are common. Avoid saunas and strong heat for a week or two, keep up daily SPF, and treat the skin gently for the first day.

How many sessions

Typically one session every 12–18 months; more advanced laxity may take two sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Firmness builds from week 2–4 and peaks around 2–3 months.

Who it may not suit

We go through your health and medicines first, because Volnewmer may not suit you, or may need to wait, if any of these apply:

  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • You have a pacemaker, a defibrillator or another implanted electronic device, or a metal implant or stent in the area.
  • There is a skin condition, a scar or an open wound in the area.
  • You tend to form keloid or raised scars.
  • You have an active cold sore, an autoimmune disease, epilepsy or poorly controlled diabetes.
  • You have a bleeding disorder or take blood-thinning medicines.
  • You use a prescription retinoid or steroid cream on the area.
  • You have permanent filler in the area.
  • You have had filler, anti-wrinkle injections, laser or light treatment, or a deep peel in the area recently: we space the treatments.

Risks and side effects

Common and short-lived: redness and warmth, and sometimes mild swelling or soreness, which usually settle within a day.

Less common: numbness or tingling in the treated skin. In a study of a single Volnewmer session, about one person in seven had some numbness and one in five some tingling; both settled within a week.

Rare, but possible: a burn or blister, a change in skin colour, uneven areas under the skin, or a scar. None of these was seen in that study. The water cooling, a sensor that stops the energy if the tip loses contact with the skin, and settings matched to your comfort are there to keep these risks low.

Results are gradual and vary. A review of radiofrequency treatments describes the results as modest, and some of the smoothing seen straight after a session can fade over the following weeks, more often in deeper lines; the lasting firmness comes from new collagen, over months.

Aftercare

  • For the first day, treat the skin gently: a mild cleanser and a plain moisturiser.
  • For a week or two: no saunas or strong heat, which in the Dubai summer includes long spells outdoors in the midday heat.
  • Sunscreen every day, reapplied when you are outside.
  • Leave a gap before filler, anti-wrinkle injections or another energy-based treatment in the same area; we plan the timing with you.
  • Message us if you notice a blister, a patch that stays numb, or a mark that doesn't fade.

How pricing works

We don't publish prices. The cost depends on the areas treated and the number of pulses your skin needs, which we decide together at the consultation. Most people need one session, repeated every 12 to 18 months; more advanced laxity may take two, four to six weeks apart. You know the full plan and its cost before you start, and we suggest only what your skin calls for.

Our take

Volnewmer is the gentler of our two tightening tools — right when laxity is early and the goal is firmness, not a lift.

When the concern sits deeper — real sagging rather than early softening — focused ultrasound reaches layers radiofrequency doesn't, and we'll say so rather than sell you both. Recent filler or botulinum toxin simply means proper spacing, which we'll plan with you.

Questions people ask

Volnewmer or Ultraformer MPT: which one for firming?

It depends on how deep the laxity sits. Volnewmer warms the dermis broadly with radiofrequency, both layers at once, which suits early softening, crepiness and the goal of firmness. Ultraformer MPT focuses ultrasound into small points of heat deeper down, to the SMAS, for real sagging. Radiofrequency usually feels gentler. The two can be combined, even on the same day, but we suggest both only when your skin needs both.

When will I see a difference after Volnewmer?

Some firming straight away, as existing collagen contracts, then a slower change as new collagen forms: firmness builds from week two to four and peaks around two to three months. In a study of a single session, the improvement at 12 weeks was clearly greater than at four weeks, and by then doctors rated most people moderately or markedly improved.

Does Volnewmer hurt?

Most people find it comfortable. In a study of one session without numbing cream, more than eight in ten said they were comfortable throughout. The heat builds with each pulse: the average pain score straight after was about 4 out of 10, and it eased within an hour. If it feels too hot, we lower the level or keep the tip moving.

Can I go back to work after Volnewmer?

Usually, yes. Make-up can go on straight after, and the mild redness and warmth most people have usually fade within hours. Keep the first day gentle, and leave saunas and strong heat for a week or two.

Is Volnewmer suitable for darker skin?

Usually, after assessment. Radiofrequency heats the skin with an electric current rather than light. Even so, changes in skin colour can follow radiofrequency treatment, and the Volnewmer studies we cite were done mainly in Korean adults, so we look at your skin first and start carefully.

Where can I have Volnewmer in Dubai, and how do I choose a clinic?

At CREAMÉ, 350 Al Wasl Road, Jumeirah 1, where Volnewmer is part of Dr. Daria Banina's work and our Medical Director, Dr. Svetlana Tagaeva, leads the clinic's medical work. Wherever you go, ask who will treat you and check they hold a current DHA licence. A careful consultation looks at how deep your laxity sits, asks about a pacemaker or metal implant, permanent filler and recent injections, and tells you plainly when focused ultrasound, injectables or nothing at all would suit you better.

How much does the Volnewmer procedure cost?

We don't publish prices. The cost depends on the areas treated, such as the jawline or the skin around the eyes, and on the number of pulses your skin needs, which we decide together at the consultation. For most people it is one session, repeated every 12 to 18 months; more advanced laxity may take two, four to six weeks apart. You know the full plan and its cost before you start.

Can I see Volnewmer reviews or photos of results?

Not on our site: we don't publish client reviews or photographs of clients' results, and UAE health-advertising rules limit both. What we can point to is research, from small studies without a comparison group: in a study of 45 people, measured skin roughness was about a quarter lower a month after Volnewmer, and in one of 21, 3D imaging showed lifting along the cheeks and jawline 12 weeks after one session. At the consultation we photograph your skin in the same light each time, so you can compare.

Is Volnewmer a laser or a light treatment, and what does RF lifting actually do?

Neither: Volnewmer is radiofrequency, which heats the skin with an electric current rather than light. The water-cooled tip sends the current into both layers of the dermis, up to 4 mm deep, and a pad on your back completes the circuit. The heat contracts existing collagen, which can firm the skin a little straight away, and prompts new collagen over the following months. So “RF lifting” here usually means firmer, tighter skin, not the lift of surgery.

How long do Volnewmer results last, and how often is it repeated?

There is no fixed figure, because the skin goes on ageing: firmness is kept up rather than fixed, and for most people that means one session every 12 to 18 months. The studies of this device followed people for one to three months, not years. Some of the smoothing seen straight after a session can fade over the following weeks, more often in deeper lines; the firmness that lasts comes from new collagen, which takes two to three months to build.

What are the side effects and risks of Volnewmer, and what aftercare helps?

Most are mild and short-lived: redness and warmth, sometimes mild swelling or soreness, usually gone within a day. Less often, numbness or tingling, which in a study of this device settled within a week. Rarely: a burn or blister, a change in skin colour, uneven areas under the skin, or a scar. Afterwards, a mild cleanser and plain moisturiser for a day, no saunas or long midday heat for a week or two, and daily SPF; tell us about a blister or numbness that lasts.

Can Volnewmer and Ultraformer MPT be combined, and in which order?

Yes, when your skin needs both; the doctor sets the order and the spacing. They work at different depths, Volnewmer within the dermis and Ultraformer MPT down to the SMAS, so they can complement each other. In a split-face study of 24 adults who had this radiofrequency device and focused ultrasound on the same day, one straight after the other, both orders improved the skin with few side effects, and wrinkles improved slightly more when radiofrequency came first. When one is enough, that's the one we suggest.

Is Volnewmer worth it, and does radiofrequency tightening really work?

For early laxity it usually helps, modestly: skin that feels firmer, and fine lines and crepiness, around the eyes especially, that look softer, with no needles and usually no downtime. A review of radiofrequency treatments describes the results as modest and no substitute for surgery. So it can be worth it when laxity is early and you want a gradual change; with real sagging, we'll tell you it isn't enough. It doesn't treat pigment, puffiness or hollows.

Volnewmer or Sylfirm X: which radiofrequency treatment suits me?

It depends on what comes with the laxity. Volnewmer is radiofrequency without needles: a water-cooled tip warms the dermis up to 4 mm deep, for early softening and crepiness, usually without numbing cream or downtime, typically one session every 12 to 18 months. Sylfirm X is radiofrequency microneedling: fine gold-plated needles release energy from 0.3 to 4 mm, for laxity with pigment, redness, enlarged pores or acne scars. It follows numbing cream, usually leaves a day or two of pinkness, and is usually a course of three to five sessions.

What is eye Volnewmer, and what can it change under the eyes?

Usually it means Volnewmer used on the thin skin around the eyes, below them included. There it can gradually firm crepey, softening skin and soften fine lines, over two to three months: in a small split-face study of this device, funded by its maker, lines around the eyes were softer three months after one session. It doesn't treat pigment, puffiness or hollows: a hollow under the eye is lost volume, which needs a different plan.

Which areas can Volnewmer treat: the face, the jawline or the neck?

We use it on the face: early jowls along the jawline, soft contours, fine lines and crepey skin around the eyes, when laxity is early and the aim is firmness rather than lift. For a looser neck, or a jawline that has clearly softened, focused ultrasound (Ultraformer MPT) usually suits better, because it reaches deeper layers. The doctor looks at how deep the laxity sits in each area and tells you which fits, and whether one of each makes sense.
