What Ultraformer MPT is for

Laxity. A jawline that has softened, a neck that has loosened, contours that sit a little lower than they used to — structure, not surface.

Concerns it may help with

How Ultraformer MPT works

High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU). The energy is concentrated into microscopic points of heat at precise depths — from the surface layers down to 4.5 mm, the SMAS layer — where it triggers the skin to contract and build new collagen. The micro-pulsed delivery is designed for comfort.

A session, step by step

  1. We start with your concern, a look at your face and neck, photographs in the same light each time, and a check of your health and the medicines you take.
  2. The skin is cleansed. Numbing cream is optional rather than expected; if you'd like it, it goes on first and needs extra time to work.
  3. The treatment itself: the handpiece rests on the skin and moves line by line, with the energy set for each area and depth, from the surface layers down to the SMAS at 4.5 mm. You feel warmth and brief deep pinches where the energy lands.
  4. Face and neck take around 30 to 60 minutes in all. Most people go straight back to their day; some redness is common, and sunscreen goes on before you leave.

What to expect

How it feels

Around 30–60 minutes for the face and neck. Warmth and brief deep pinches where the energy lands — mild to moderate, and numbing cream is optional rather than expected.

Downtime

Usually none — most people return to their day straight away. Some redness, mild swelling or tenderness for a few days is common. Avoid saunas, hot yoga and strong sun for a week or two, and keep up daily SPF.

How many sessions

For most people, one session every 12–18 months. Advanced laxity may call for 2–3 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart. There's a subtle immediate tightening, but the real result arrives at 2–3 months as collagen rebuilds — this is a treatment that rewards patience.

Who it may not suit

We go through your health and medicines first, because Ultraformer MPT may not suit you, or may need to wait, if any of these apply:

  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • You have a pacemaker, a defibrillator or another implanted electronic device, or a metal implant in the area.
  • There is an infection, an open wound, inflamed or cystic acne, or a skin condition such as eczema, psoriasis or vitiligo in the area.
  • There are scars, a tattoo or patches of pigmentation in the area.
  • You tend to form keloid or raised scars, or your skin heals poorly.
  • You have an autoimmune disease, poorly controlled diabetes, or serious heart, liver or kidney disease.
  • You have a bleeding disorder, or take blood thinners or other medicines that affect clotting.
  • You have had filler, anti-wrinkle injections or another energy-based treatment in the area recently: we space the treatments.

Risks and side effects

Common and short-lived: redness, mild swelling and tenderness, which usually settle within a few days, and sometimes small bruises. Discomfort during the session is the usual complaint.

Less common: patches of numbness, raised lines or welts on the skin, and darker patches after inflammation. A nerve can also be affected, weakening a facial muscle; reported cases have usually been temporary.

Rare, but important to know: burns, with blistering or open sores, and a small hollow where the fat beneath the skin has shrunk. Serious complications like these are possible and may be under-reported, which is why we plan each area and adjust the energy as we go.

Aftercare

  • Tenderness can last a few days: wash gently and use a plain moisturiser.
  • For a week or two: no saunas or hot yoga, and no strong sun. In the Dubai summer, that means shade and staying indoors in the hottest hours.
  • Sunscreen every day, reapplied when you are outside.
  • Leave a gap before filler, anti-wrinkle injections or another energy-based treatment in the same area; we plan the timing with you.
  • Message us straight away if you notice blistering, a sore that doesn't heal, numbness that lasts, or weakness when you move your face.

How pricing works

We don't publish prices. The cost depends on the areas treated, such as the face, the neck or both, and on how much treatment your skin needs, which we decide together at the consultation. Most people need one session, repeated every 12 to 18 months. You know the full plan and its cost before you start, and we suggest only what your laxity calls for.

Our take

Ultraformer is the deep tool — for structure and lift, not for tone or texture.

It works over months, not days, and we'd rather tell you that plainly than promise an instant change. If you've had filler or botulinum toxin recently we'll space the treatments properly, and if your laxity is mild enough that a lighter option would do, that's the one we'll suggest.

Questions people ask

Is Ultraformer MPT the same as HIFU?

Yes. Ultraformer MPT is a high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) device made by Classys in South Korea; MPT refers to its micro-pulsed delivery, designed for comfort. It concentrates the energy into small points of heat at set depths, down to the SMAS layer at 4.5 mm.

Ultraformer MPT or Volnewmer: which one for firming?

It depends on where the laxity sits. Ultraformer focuses ultrasound into small points of heat at set depths, down to the SMAS, which is why we use it for structure and lift along the jawline and neck. Volnewmer, our radiofrequency tightening device, warms the dermis more broadly: the lighter option when laxity is mild. Focused ultrasound usually feels stronger. The two can be combined, even on the same day, but we suggest both only when your skin needs both.

How much of a lift can I expect?

A gradual, subtle change rather than a dramatic one. There's a slight tightening straight away; the real result arrives at two to three months as collagen rebuilds. In a study of Ultraformer MPT for sagging eyelids, about three in four people noticed an improvement at 12 weeks, and independent doctors rating the photographs saw it in about six in ten. Focused ultrasound suits mild to moderate laxity; where skin hangs heavily, it may not be enough, and we'll say so.

Does Ultraformer MPT hurt?

It's usually mild to moderate: warmth and brief deep pinches where the energy lands, stronger in some areas than others. In a study of Ultraformer MPT around the eyes, with numbing cream, the average pain score was under 4 out of 10. Numbing cream is optional, and we adjust the energy as we go.

Can I have Ultraformer MPT in the Dubai summer?

Yes. The energy works beneath the surface, and the redness most people have usually settles within a few days. For a week or two afterwards, avoid saunas, hot yoga and strong sun, and keep up daily SPF.

Is Ultraformer MPT suitable for darker skin?

Usually, after assessment. It is designed to leave the surface of the skin untouched, but darker patches after treatment have been reported, uncommonly, so we look at your skin first and choose the settings with care.

How much does Ultraformer MPT cost in Dubai?

We don't publish prices. The cost depends on the areas, such as the face, the neck or both, and on how much treatment your skin needs, which we decide at the consultation; most people need one session every 12 to 18 months. You know the full plan and its cost before you start.

Where can I get a HIFU facial with Ultraformer in Dubai, and how do I choose the clinic and doctor?

With us at CREAMÉ, 350 Al Wasl Road, Jumeirah 1, where our doctors Dr. Olga Ibrakova and Dr. Daria Banina do Ultraformer MPT, and Dr. Svetlana Tagaeva, the Medical Director, leads the clinic's medical work, energy-based treatments included. Wherever you go, ask who will treat you and check that they hold a current DHA licence. A careful consultation asks about your health, your medicines and any recent filler or anti-wrinkle injections, looks at how deep the laxity sits, and tells you plainly when a lighter treatment, or surgery, would suit you better.

Is Ultraformer MPT a laser, and what does a “HIFU facial” treat?

It uses high-intensity focused ultrasound to firm and lift lax skin a little, gradually, and Ultraformer MPT is ultrasound, not a laser: it works with sound waves rather than light. Despite the word “facial”, it treats laxity, not pigment or texture.

What are the benefits of a HIFU facial, and does Ultraformer really work?

For mild to moderate laxity it often helps, modestly: a firmer jawline, a tighter neck and contours that sit a little higher, building over two to three months. The benefits are no needles, usually no downtime and, for most people, one session every 12 to 18 months. In a review of 17 studies on the face and neck, the average improvement was moderate, and some people see little change. With heavy, hanging skin or a very heavy neck, surgery may be the honest answer.

What are the side effects and risks of a HIFU facial with Ultraformer, including near the eyes?

Most are mild and short-lived: redness, mild swelling and tenderness that usually settle within a few days, sometimes small bruises, and discomfort during the session. Less common: patches of numbness, raised lines on the skin, darker patches, or a nerve affected so that a facial muscle is weaker, usually temporarily. Rare but serious: burns with blistering, or a small hollow where fat has shrunk. Near the eyes, the eye itself has to be shielded, because focused heat could injure it.

Is there downtime after a HIFU facial, and what aftercare helps?

Usually none: most people go straight back to their day, with some redness, mild swelling or tenderness for a few days. Wash gently and use a plain moisturiser. For a week or two, avoid saunas, hot yoga and strong sun, which in a Dubai summer means shade in the hottest hours, and wear SPF every day. Ask us before another treatment on the same area, since we plan the gap. Message us straight away about blistering, numbness that lasts or weakness when you move your face.

How soon do Ultraformer MPT results show?

Gradually: the main change usually arrives at two to three months. Straight after the session there can be a subtle tightening, alongside redness or mild swelling that usually settles within a few days. At one week and at one month the change is usually still building, because new collagen takes time, and studies usually judge the result at about three months. If you have a date in mind, such as a wedding, start at least two to three months ahead.

How many Ultraformer HIFU sessions do I need, and how long do results last?

For most people one session, repeated every 12 to 18 months; advanced laxity may need two or three sessions spaced four to six weeks apart. How long a result lasts varies from person to person, and long-term research is thin: most studies follow people for months rather than years. The skin goes on ageing, so firmness is kept up rather than fixed, and we suggest a repeat only when your skin calls for it.

HIFU facial vs RF microneedling: how do I choose between Ultraformer MPT and Sylfirm X?

By what you want to change. Ultraformer MPT is focused ultrasound, without needles, reaching the SMAS at 4.5 mm: for a softened jawline and a looser neck, usually in one session and usually with no downtime. Sylfirm X is radiofrequency microneedling, with fine needles releasing energy from 0.3 to 4 mm: for early laxity that comes with texture, enlarged pores or acne scars, usually in three to five sessions, with a day or two of pinkness. Some plans combine the two over time.

Is HIFU done for men too, and which areas of the face and neck can it treat?

Yes: we treat men and women, and the plan starts the same way, with how deep the laxity sits and the energy set for each area. On the face and neck it suits a softened jawline, early jowls, lax skin under the chin and a looser neck, where it can firm and lift a little. For eyelids, a small study of this device, run with its maker, found a modest tightening of sagging upper and lower lids. Hollows under the eyes are lost volume, a question for injectables instead.

Can I have HIFU during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and how soon after?

Not during pregnancy or while you are breastfeeding: both are on the list of times we don't treat, so we wait until they are over. After that, HIFU is planned as it would be for anyone else, starting with how much of the change in your face and neck is laxity and how much is lost volume, which needs a different plan. If you might be pregnant, tell us before the session.
